The Better Banning Project
Improving Minnesota's Banning State Park for better user experience.
A short list of park upgrades and changes has been collected by the Sandstone Tourism Development Committee to allow better access to the Banning State Park.
1. Improve road and parking access at Big Spring Falls.
2. Hiking trail loop on both sides of the Kettle River using highway bridges #23 and #123 for crossing the river.
3. Gaining access to Grand Daddy Falls, foot trail on east side of Kettle River downstream of the Hwy #123 bridge.
4. Designated biking loop around Banning State Park. (hwy #23 to hwy #123)
5. Designate a non-motorized section of the Kettle River from Blueberry Slide to Big Spring Falls.
6. Removing dangerous dam remnants in Robinson Park, replace with a surf wave.
